Lagos Landlady Arrested For Allegedly Connecting Water Well To NNPC Pipeline (Photos)
Mrs Floyinka Ayinda has been arrested and detained at Idimu division on charges of vandalism of NNPC pipeline in Isheri Olofin, Lagos, after a pipe water well was discovered to be connected to NNPC pipeline.
According to PM News, the 59-year-old landlady has been siphoning petrol illegally at her residence located at KML 1, LASU Road, Iyana Odo bus stop in Isheri Olofin, for the past three years.
Officers of the Anti-Vandalism Intelligence Unit Team B set up by Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, acting on a tip-off made the discovery.
Ayinde allegedly admitted after her arrest that for the past three years, vandals has been operating in her house and she reported to the NNPC officials but they did not do anything about it.
She however denied her involvement in the act and claimed that her only mistake was by not informing the police because she relied on NNPC who asked her not to bother.
The suspect further revealed that the NNPC officials use to come with a team and she did not ask to know whether they were really officers or not.

The Nigeria Football Federation has apologized to the Federal Government and the good people of Nigeria for the Super Eagles’s failure at the 4th African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
Leading the Group C table before kick –off of the final matches on Tuesday, the Super Eagles failed to fly in a 0-1 defeat by Guinea in Rubavu that eliminated Nigeria from the continental houseparty in Rwanda.
NFF President Amaju Pinnick reiterated that the African Nations Championship is “both developmental and preparatory for bigger challenges,” and said without mincing words that the Federation would now shift focus to the qualification race for the bigger Africa Cup of Nations.
“We apologise to Nigerians for the poor outing of the Super Eagles in Rwanda, but we toe the line of CAF which states that CHAN is a developmental and preparatory competition. Of course, as Nigerians, we love to win always, and we feel bad when we don’t.
I want us to take the positives from this tournament. A player like Chisom Chikatara broke onto the global platform and players like Usman Mohammed, Chima Akas, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Austin Oboroakpo and Ifeanyi Mathew confirmed their class.
“For me, it is disappointing that we did not progress. But the NFF will now focus on the 2017 AFCON qualifiers, and start preparations early for the remaining rounds,” Pinnick said.
The Super Eagles have a quick, top-of-the-table double –take against Pharaohs of Egypt in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying race, with the first leg in Nigeria on March 23 and the return leg in Egypt five days later.

Lagos State Government announced that one of the two remaining Lassa fever patients at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, will make a full recovery adding that as test carried on him came out negative.
Responding to questions the briefing,Idrisrefuted the rumour that the two victims had died.
He said:
“We have two cases now and they are doing very well, one of them in LUTH has zero converted it means he has now become negative based on the treatment, so if you come out very early you can be treated.”
The Commissioners explained that the state government had put measures in place to ensure that residents were protected.
In regards to the immunization exercise, he said the government was targeting over 4 million children for measles.

Buhari Meets US Secretary Of Commerce, Says Nigeria Welcomes US Support For Security & Development
President Muhammadu Buharisaid today in Abuja that his administration will continue to welcome the support and understanding of the United States as it strives to achieve greater internal security and socio-economic progress in Nigeria.
Receiving a delegation led by the United States Secretary of Commerce,Penny Pritzkerat the Presidential Villa, President Buhari applauded ongoing American collaboration with his administration on security and developmental issues.
“I remain grateful for the reception accorded me and my team when we visited the United States at the invitation of President Obama.
“We discussed security, corruption, infrastructure, and many other issues.
“We thank America for sending experts to train our troops and providing hardware for our military because we must first stabilize the country before we can move it forward,” the President told the delegation which included the United States Ambassador to Nigeria,James Entwistle, and three others.
The Vice President,Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who was at the meeting, said that although Nigeria currently faces serious challenges, it is also a time of great opportunities for the country.
“It’s time to diversify our economy from oil. We’ve always talked about it, but never got round to doing it. The opportunity has come now. We have all it takes to be an agricultural nation. We also have solid minerals and we must develop our infrastructure in order to aid business.”
Pritzker told President Buhari that she was in Nigeria with 10 leading American business men and women, at the prompting of President Obama.
“The purpose is to better understand the opportunities and challenges of doing business in Nigeria. Our team is very optimistic about your government’s commitment to security, good governance, fighting corruption, having reliable and regular regulatory policies.
“All these make us optimistic about working together. We are not here to sell policies, but to partner with you,” she said.
