Driver Flees With Employer’s SUV 2 Weeks After Employment (Photos)

The police at Ilasan division, Lekki, Lagos, western Nigeria, have arrested a driver, Ongro Stephen Ishade, 26, for allegedly stealing his employer’s Toyota Sienna SUV valued at N5m and drove it to Kwara State, North Central Nigeria to look for a buyer for it just two weeks after he was employed.

The police alleged that the incident occurred on 18 January, 2016 at Probyn Road, Friends’ Colony, Aguigi, Lekki, Lagos when the suspect was sent on an errand by his employer, Sholape Akinola.

The driver instead drove his employer’s vehicle straight to Kwara State to look for a buyer for it. Nemesis caught up with the driver when he was arrested by the police in Kwara State while driving around the vehicle to look for a buyer.

During interrogation, according to the police, the suspect from Cross River State, Southsouth Nigeria, allegedly confessed to the police that he stole the vehicle from his employer in Lagos to go and sell and use the proceeds to build a house for his parents in the village who have no accommodation.

Following his alleged confession, the police in Kwara State sent a signal to the police in Lagos State about the incident and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ilasan Division Lekki, Lagos, SP Onyinye Onwuamegbu, dispatched a team led by SGT. Orukotan Lonikola to Kwara State to bring the suspect and the stolen SUV back to Lagos.

The suspect was arraigned before an Igbosere magistrates’ court Lagos on a two-count charge of felony to wit, stealing.

Police prosecutor said the offences are punishable under sections 409 and 285(1) (7) (10) of the criminal laws of Lagos State.

The accused denied the police allegations in the open court when the charges were read to him, and Magistrate Mr. P. A Adekomaiya admitted him to bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. Adekomaiya adjourned the case till 15 February, 2016 for mention while the defendant was taken to Ikoyi Prison Lagos pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.

OAU Students Ask Buhari To Probe VC

Hundreds of students of Obafemi Awolowo University on Friday asked President Muhammadu Buhari administration to probe the activities of the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Bamitale Omole.

The students passed the message to the President through the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who was at the university. They also bombarded the minister with requests that the Federal Government should ensure decent hostels for students on the campus.

The minister was at OAU to deliver the distinguished guest lecture, titled ‘Nexus between corruption and underdevelopment of Nigeria’ at the University’s Faculty of Arts. The students had staged series of protest against poor condition of their hostels which led to the closure of the school by the management late last year.

“Our halls of residence are in bad shape and my colleagues are saying probe Omole (VC) and so on,” said one of the students allowed to ask the minister a question.

“It is not only at the national level that the government should concentrate its fight against corruption, it should come to universities and we welcome President Buhari’s war against corruption on OAU campus.”

The entire students present applauded the students, while the minister promised to meet with the VC to discuss the issue of students’ union leaders under suspension.

The minister urged Nigerians to support the government in the fight, saying corruption had already started fighting back.

Olisa Metuh Resumes Work, Hosts British Lawmakers (Photos)

The National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, who regained his freedom after meeting his bail conditions on Thursday, resumed work at PDP office on Friday.

Metuh met with members of the British Conservative Party. This is according to tweets from the official handle of the PDP.

The British Conservative Party’s delegation was led by Mark Field, Member of Parliament representing the Cities of London and Westminster; and Colin Bloom, Director of outreach at the Conservative Party.

The Conservative Party, officially the Conservative and Unionist Party, is a centre-right political party in the United Kingdom. It is the majority party in the House of Commons, having won 330 of the 650 seats at the 2015 general election.

It is the largest party in local government with 8,296 councillors.

The needs or should I say wants of women are so diverse that it even differs in each of them. What this woman wants is different from what the other wants thus making the frustration and anger of the men folk very understandable.

A man might have a sour relationship with a woman for a certain reason and when he tries to correct it in his next relationship, things go sour again because the new one wants what the old one didn’t want and this brings about the saying that women are so complicated and do not know what they want.

The truth is that human beings are insatiable not just the women. So pleasing them in every way is very impossible. But the good news is there are certain things EVERY woman craves for which when found, can make them very happy.

The first thing is comfort. No woman wants to be uncomfortable in her relationship. For a man to make his woman comfortable, he must have something doing and dreams of getting bigger.

This doesn’t mean she is materialistic. There are just some things that cannot be changed and one of them is the fact that a woman needs to take care of herself and look good every time for her man. The men should be happy about that and not complain about it. Or don’t they want something good for themselves? Another thing a woman needs is attention. Once she gets divided attention, the first thing that comes to her mind is that there is another woman, which might not be the case. It might be work, family issues or something else that has been bothering and taking their time. What the men need to do is talk to them about it.

Instead of trying to settle it on your own, why not share it with her and work things out together. That way, you’re giving her the attention she needs and attending to other things at the same time. Every woman likes feeling special. Take her out every once in a while, spend time with her, make her know your friends, offer listening ears and most of all, TRY to be there whenever she needs you.

Thirdly, a woman needs a man that understands her. Someone that knows when she is angry and how to calm her nerves, someone that knows what makes her upset and what makes her happy.

Not someone that can’t detect when something is wrong. They need their man to understand their feelings and respect it. Of course as a man, you deserve respect but she deserves some respect too.

One secret about women is that they reciprocate on impulse. Once she is loved, she gives love back. Now, this is not magic so it doesn’t work when you’re with a woman that doesn’t love you.

Most importantly, every woman wants to be trusted. The men should realize that women know what they want and that nobody wants something bad for himself/herself. Give your woman some space.

She needs freedom too. Don’t suspect her every move. Give her a benefit of doubt. Trust her judgements. Yes, it’s true that you can’t be right all the time and everyone needs correction at one point or the other. Correct them but be nice about it.

I know some of you reading this (especially the men) will say “how come the men get to do all this, what then will the woman do?” The truth is you tend to enjoy a woman who’s happy.

Once she’s happy, everyone around her will be happy, especially YOU. It might seem difficult to do all that I mentioned above but just give it a trial. Happiness is worth sacrificing for.

And never forget that nobody is perfect. We are all in a quest for perfection. A happy woman makes a happy home. Let us practice this and see where it gets us. Have a happy relationship.
