Don’t Mess With Kashamu, Senate Warns NDLEA

Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition has cautioned the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) against any act of illegality that could lead to the alleged abduction and extradition of Senator Buruji Kashamu to the United States of America.

The committee which was led by Senator Samuel Anyanwu gave this directive on Wednesday, while debating a petition forwarded to it by the senator, who was physically present at the venue of the hearing, in company with his lawyer, said the extradition plans were unlawful.

It will be recalled that the NDLEA, through its spokesman, Mitchell Ofoyeju stated that it still had plans to arrest and extradite Kashamu to the United States to face drug charges.

The NDLEA had also said then that it was simply obeying the court orders, which forbade it from arresting Kashamu but that it would still pursue the case to its legal conclusion. But appearing before the panel, accompanied by his counsel, Ajibola Oluyede, Kashamu alleged that the plan was to adopt and extradite him with the connivance of NDLEA officials.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Anyanwu, while reacting, mandated the NDLEA to maintain status quo on the issue, pending the outcome of Senate panel’s ongoing investigation.

Ghanaian Boy Suffering From Protracted Cancer Granted His Dying Wish To See Interior Of A Plane

A Ghanaian boy who is suffering from protracted cancer who was told there is nothing more that can be done to save him, has asked for one wish. The boy told nurses attending to him that his wish was to sit in an airplane before he dies, and they granted him that last wish.

He was driven to Kokota International Airport in an ambulance and was made to sit in an aircraft where flight crew served him and attended to him as if they were flying. He also took photographs with them before he was returned back to the hospital in the same ambulance. This story was shared on Facebook.

“A child is in an ambulance heading to kotoka airport , u know why,? He want to see an aeroplane before he die, yes die , his parents couldn’t afford treatment for cancer and he was kept at home till it got worse. Now there is nothing to do and he will die any moment from now but he begged the hospital to make him see a plane before he dies.”. Two More photos below;

Open Letter From Ruggedman To 9ice, Bloggers, Friends & Fans [Must Read]

The rapper and entrepreneur poured out his heart in an open letter he just released. Read below. In 2010 9ice released a song that made a lot of people wrongfully drag me into a terrible situation. People who miscontrued the song and it created a rumour .

A terrible false rumour that was fueled by journalists and bloggers who were only after hits on their sites.Bloggers and journalists who did not care to investigate and confirm a rumour, but chose to print and post it anyways not caring who got hurt in the process. I remember pleading my innocence and that of Toni Paynes but social media people being who and how they are, chose not to listen.

I remember calling 9ice on the phone CIA style to talk to him about it and he was clearly heard admitting the song was not about myself or Toni Payne, but social media people being who and how they are, chose not to listen.

I remember asking 9ice to publicly clear the air on the terrible rumour, but was shocked when my friend said he would not because he was busy and didn’t have time for such. Again nobody wondered why.

Fast forward 2016. six years later and I was surprised when i heard that 9ice has finally come out to say i never slept with his wife and the song was not about me and even apologised on top. That he has finally come out to say the truth about the issue that cast a negative shadow over my head and that of his ex wife for six years.

All i can do is smile because I know me better than anybody out there who insulted me over the matter. I said it then and i say it now, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens will never sleep with his friends wife.

Families and husbands you can now relax. Your daughters and wives are safe around me hahahahaha!! To 9ice, bro you left it a bit too late. You had your chance to clear this matter up 6 years ago when it really mattered but you did not take it. I do not know why and exactly what it was that made you keep quiet all that while. I did my best to clear my name without you and moved have moved on since.

Anyways I accept your apology and thank God we are all alive.

To bloggers and journalists: You will be who and how you are,but the best and most successful ones amongst you will be the ones who actually get professional about with their work and try to investigate stories before putting it out there. I really hope you all realise its not all about the hits. Do not lose your humanity all because you want to be the first to break news.

On a lighter note,if you want to break news, kindly break the news that my new song ft Olamide titled Seyi Shay will drop on cloud 9music and mtn plus tomorrow 5th February 2016. I wish you all the best and I appreciate everybody who has been there for me.God bless us all.

Police Officer Who Battered His Wife To Death For Refusing S.ex Jailed For Life

PC Adrian Goldsmith was jailed for life on February 1 at Stafford Crown Court after he was found guilty of killing his wife.

Goldsmith, 50, beat wife Jill, 49, with a mallet, paint pot and heavy battery then stabbed himself to make it look like self-defence. He tried to trick colleagues and a jury into thinking she had attacked him first at their home close to Northants Police headquarters. Goldsmith also known as Otis, was arrested after his wife was found dead in March last year. The lying policeman even made out Mrs Goldsmith had “self-harmed” in the moments before her death.

But a jury at Stafford Crown Court dismissed his fantasy defence and found him guilty of murder. Judge Paul Glenn who delivered the sentence said he must spend at least 15 years behind bars before he can be considered for parole.

The officer, who has been dismissed from the force, showed no emotion as he was sentenced.

“You set about establishing a defence in an attempt to avoid the consequences of your actions. You lied repeatedly to the police, to the doctors who were treating you and to the prison chaplain some weeks later when you were on remand. You had caused injuries to yourself to enable the defence you ran at your trial to get off the ground.” Judge Glenn rejected Goldsmith’s claims that his wife had become violent and aggressive shortly before she died. “Jill Goldsmith was a mother, a daughter and a friend of many.

No sentence the court can impose can even begin to compensate for the loss and anguish the family are feeling. The nature of this attack was such that your victim would inevitably have suffered physically before she died. There were multiple blows, predominantly to the head. She must have been in terror as she fought for her life, as I am satisfied she did.”

Goldsmith, also known as Otis, was a serving officer at the time of the offence and had 28 years of service and a number of commendations. The officer, of Wootton Hall Park, Northampton, denied murder. According to the prosecutor, John Lloyd-Jones, QC:

“Jill was undergoing the menopause and the reduction in her s*x drive annoyed and frustrated the defendant.” The victim’s heartbroken son Charlie Bailey said in an impact statement that his mother’s death means “there is a massive part of me missing”

Another Terrorist Group May Emerge If Poverty Is Not Addressed – Bauchi Gov

Bauchi state governor,Mohammed Abubakar, says another terror group may emerge if poverty and ignorance in the North East is not addressed.

He said this during a meeting with a 12-member Assessment Team of the European Union (EU), United Nations (UN) and World Bank (WB) on insurgency devastated areas in the North-East in Bauchi yesterday February 3rd.

“Rebuilding infrastructure is important in rebuilding the areas but addressing the underlying factor of the insurgency is much more important because the North-East is seriously affected by poverty and ignorance.

If poverty and ignorance are not properly addressed, they could provide grounds for the rise of another crazy group if Boko Haram is taken care of. We are running a risk if poverty is not addressed.”he said

7 Month Old Baby Killed Alongside His Parents By Gangs [Viewer Discretion]

7 month old Marcos Miguel Pano Colón (left) was shot dead by gang members alongside his parents last week. Horrific photos showing the bodies of the baby boy and his parents slaughtered in Oaxaca, Mexico, were released this week and it has sparked fierce debate about the country’s rampant gang violence and society’s acceptance of it. The boy was being carried by his 24-year-old father, Juan Alberto Pano Ramos, and accompanied by his 17-year-old mother, Alba Isabel Colón, when their attackers opened fire on them in the city of Pinotepa Nacional on Friday evening.

Police have since arrested four people in connection with the murders. The police said that Juan and Alba were targeted by the gang for selling drugs. ‘A rival drug gang from [the neighboring state of] Guerrero located them and had them riddled with bullets,’ a prosecutor said.

Gonzáles ‘El Isis’ Gerónimo, a suspected drug trafficker linked with the slain parents, was also killed in Oaxaca state the same day.

Gang violence is rife in some areas of Mexico. The Trans-Border Institute at the University of San Diego, which analyses crime in the country, says that from 2006-2012, the total number of homicides in the country could have been as high as 125,000.
