In Photos: This 68yr old woman battered by her 79yr old husband in Lagos

According to Human Rights activist, Joe Okei-Odumakin, this 68 year old woman was battered by her 79 year old husband at their home in Isheri, Lagos recently. According to the elderly woman, during an argument, her husband used his walking stick to flog her severally on her head. She sustained serious injury and was taken to the hospital. Odumakin says her group visited them today and has helped them resolve the issue. The elderly man was remorseful and apologized. He promised never to hit his wife again. Busted!!! EFCC Arrest Man For N11.6m Internet Fraud (Photo)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested one Tonwerigha Oyintonbra Tombrown for allegedly duping an Irish businesswoman, Izabela Glogowska to the tune of €53,000 (equivalent of N11.6million) in an Internet scam.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the antigraft agency, Wilson Uwajaren, the Irish woman Glogowska alleged that Tombrown who posed as a prominent online trader Michael Freeman, tricked her into sending him €1,000 via Western Union/Money gram as payment for a business deal.

She added that he later pretended to be one Ben Andrews demanding for an additional €10,000 claiming that there was a policy change. The same Andrews advised her to send the money to Tombrown in Nigeria, who ended up diverting the money to a fake account.

Efforts to recover her money proved abortive, hence she petitioned the EFCC. The suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

I Stabbed Him Because He Touched My Br€as.t – Woman Tells Court

At a Gudu Upper Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory today, a 28-year-old woman, Ifeoma Okoroafor, disclosed that she violently inflicted injuries on a man because he touched her breast.

A 28-year-old woman, Ifeoma Okoroafor, on Friday told a Gudu Upper Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory that she inflicted injuries on a man because he touched her breast. Okoroafor of Dutse Area of Apo pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of joint act and causing hurt contrary to Section 79 and 245 of the Penal Code.

“My Lord, the nominal complainant, Musa Goddy, touched me inappropriately and without my consent, while I was waiting for a commercial vehicle to take me home after work at night. The complainant beat me up and tore my clothes when I queried him for his action,” Okoroafor told the court.

According to her, the timely intervention of three other women saved me from being killed by the complainant. She told the court that the cloth she wore to the court was given to her by a police officer at the station to enable her appear decently at the court. The prosecutor, Urom Inah, told the court that Goddy of Police Barracks, Garki, reported the matter at the Garki Police Station on Feb. 28. Inah said the defendant attacked him and used bottle to inflict injuries on him for no reason. He said Okoroafor could not give any satisfactory account of her actions during police investigation.

The judge, Umar Kagarko, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N20,000 with one reliable surety in like sum, adding that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and adjourned the case till May 9 for hearing. Source:-News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)

Okada Rider Thrown Into Prison For Allegedly R.áping Passenger.....

A s*x starved Okada rider who forcefully had sexual intercourse with a passenger he was carrying has been thrown into prison.

A Gusau Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday ordered the remand of a motorcyclist, Salisu Abubakar for allegedly raping a passenger. Though the accused pleaded not guilty, Chief Magistrate Bello Kucheri, ordered that he should be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case till March 15 for mention.

The prosecutor, Cpl. Ibrahim Aliyu, had told the court that on Feb. 22, one Salina Saidu of Kwari village, Shinkafi Local Government Area, reported the case at Kaura Namoda Police Station. Aliyu said that on Feb 21,Saidu boarded the accused motorcycle, to convey her from Dauran to Birnin Magaji.

The prosecutor said that the accused diverted and entered a bush where he allegedly raped the complaint. He alleged that the accused beat up the complainant, tied her hands before committing the crime. The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 283 of the Penal Code.
