Nasarawa state Assembly Suspend Six Lawmakers Over Fighting....

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly yesterday put six of its legislators on an indefinite suspension for their alleged role in the free for all fight on the floor of the House on Monday.

Yesterday, the 6 legislators mainly involved in the disorderliness were summoned by DSS to give account of what happened while the other legislators voted for them to be suspended indefinitely. The six legislators who were suspended were all APC members namely: Abubakar Kana, Kokona West; Kassim Kassim, Akwanga South; Mohammed Okpoku, – Udega/Loko; Makpa Malla, Wamba; Musa Ali, -Keffi East; and Murtala Sodangi, -Nasarawa Central.

The six men were suspended at the session presided over by the deputy speaker, Godiya Akwashiki for “misconduct and for bringing the House to disrepute” followed by a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Tanko Tunga, who accused them of bringing dishonour to the House. He was supported by the Minority Leader, Muhammed Alkali and fourteen others legislators present. Source: Vanguard

The Shitte Leader. Ibrahim El-zazzaky Lost His Left Eye During Clash With Army – Falana

In a letter he wrote to the Nigerian State Security Service demanding for the immediate release of Shiite leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, humanrights lawyer, Femi Falana revealed that the Muslim cleric lost his left eye during the Shiite clash with the Nigerian Army in December last year. Falana in the letter, said the doctors are currently battling to save his right eye. The letter in part reads “As a result of the brutal attack, Sheikh Zakzaky lost his left eye while doctors are currently battling to save the right one. To compound the physical pain and mental anguish that our clients were subjected to in the circumstance, the Nigeria Police Force and State Security Service have held them incommunicado for the past three and half months”. El-Zazakky, his wife and some of his members have been in detention since December 2015 after a clash with the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna state.

Chelsea FC finally Signs Antonio Conte As club's New Manager!

Chelsea has finally appointed outgoing Italy boss, Antonio Conte as its next manager on a three-year deal worth 15m pounds. The club fast-forwarded by a day the signing which was earlier reported by Greennews.ng this morning.

The Sun UK reports that the Italy boss will move to Stamford Bridge after Euro 2016 to begin a three-year contract after Guus Hiddink leaves. The club has also announced the deal on its official Twitter handle. The 46-year-old said: “I am very excited about the prospect of working at Chelsea football club. I am proud to be the coach of the national team of my country and only a role as attractive as manager of Chelsea could follow that.

“I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the club and the day-to-day challenge of competing in the Premier League. “Chelsea and English football are watched wherever you go, the fans are passionate and my ambition is to have more success to follow the victories I enjoyed in Italy. “I am happy we have made the announcement now so everything is clear and we can end the speculation. I will continue to focus on my job with the Italian national team and will reserve speaking about Chelsea again until after the Euros,” it quoted the Italian tactician as saying.

Marina Granovskaia, the Chelsea director believed to be owner Roman Abramovich’s eyes and ears at the club, said: “We are very pleased to have recruited one of the most highly regarded managers in world football and we are equally pleased to do so before the end of the current season. This aids our future planning. “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Guus Hiddink, who has done a great job since he joined us in December.”

Good move??? FG Orders NSCDC To Arrest Black Market Operators...

In bid to stop the activities of black market operators and others illegally benefiting from people in the current fuel crisis, the Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) has ordered a 24-hour surveillance of petrol stations by the Officers of the corps.

The Commandant General of Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) Alhaji Abdullahi gave the order after a meeting with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu at NNPC towers Abuja, Federal Government has outlawed selling of petrol on roadsides and directed the NSCDC official to arrest and prosecute offenders.

The deployment of officers of the Corps to petrol stations across the country would help check sharp practices and ensure the smooth supply and distribution of the product. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu, during the meeting, stated that the involvement of NSCDC operatives became necessary following the need to ensure total eradication of queues from fuel stations across the country and for effective monitoring of the distribution system.

Troops of 152 Task Force Battalion in conjunction with troops of Sector 1 of Multinational Joint Task Force yesterday, Sunday 4th April 2016 carried out clearance operation in suspected hideouts of Boko Haram terrorists around Madawaya general area, cleared and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) making factory, killed 15 terrorists and captured some weapons. The troops cleared terrorists in Madawaya, Jere, Kardile, Koujili, Ngenere and Maksamari, as well as Douse, Bembem, Zombulum and Taraji villages. In addition, they recovered several vehicles and motorcycles. They also discovered and destroyed the Boko Haram terrorists’ IED making factory at Bula Umara and killed 15 terrorists in the same area. In addition, the troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, 4 fully loaded magazines with 7.62mm ammunitions, 2 power generating sets, welding machines, assorted batteries and solar panels. Other items recovered include drums of beans and other grains as well as Bandolier. The gallant soldiers also rescued 275 persons held hostage by the Boko Haram terrorists. One interesting thing is that, one of the rescued persons gave birth to baby boy shortly after their liberation. Both mother and the child are doing fine.
