We always have to Borrow N600 Billion Monthly To Augment Salaries – FG

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, David Babachir Lawal, says the Federal government borrows an average of N600 billion every month to augment payment of salaries of workers. Lawal said this while speaking at the opening ceremony of the 63rd General Church Council (GCC) of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) held at ECWA headquarters in Jos yesterday April 12th.

“The federal government borrows an average of N600 billion monthly and Federal Government gets N130 billion, and sometimes if it is lucky, it gets N200 billion from Federation allocation, and we have an expenditure profile of roughly N800 billion to N900 billion. Naturally, you need to augment sources from everywhere and from wherever you can find it. I’m talking about local borrowings, not international.

There are ways and means to raise the money, because the monies coming from the Federal allocation is not enough and the figures is not fixed; it varies from month to month, depending on what enters into the treasury and our own share of it federation account, just like the states. You remember Osun state got N55million in a month from the federal allocation and the state has a salary bill of over N4 billion in a month”he said

The reason Why Teenage Girls Become Suicide Bombers – Escapee explain

A 16-year-old girl identified as Fati, who regained freedom after spending two years in Boko Haram’s captivity, has explained how teenage girls volunteer to go on suicide missions in order to escape molestation and other forms of hardship under the sect.

Fati, whose name was changed to protect her identity, said young girls fight to strap on a bomb, not because they were brainwashed by their captors but because the relentless hunger and sexual abuse became too much to bear. “They came to us to pick us. They would ask, ‘Who wants to be a suicide bomber?’ The girls would shout, ‘me, me, me.’

They were fighting to do the suicide bombings,” Fati told CNN. “It was just because they want to run away from Boko Haram. If they give them a suicide bomb, then maybe they would meet soldiers, tell them, ‘I have a bomb on me’ and they could remove the bomb. They can run away.” The teenager who was kidnapped from her village by the insurgents shared her experience with CNN at a refugee camp in Cameroon.

Hehe! 60-Year-Old Woman Caned Publicly For Selling Alcohol...

A 60-year-old woman was caned in public in the North-West of Indonesia’s Sumatra Island today after a local district court declared her guilty for selling alcoholic beverages.

The local shariah court in Takengon in Aceh province ordered 30 strokes of public caning for Remita Sinaga. However, the sentence was reduced to 28 strokes due to time she served in detention for 47 days before the court verdict. “The convict will receive 28 strokes,’’ the verdict read, which was read out by the court prior to the public caning. Sinaga was among five offenders of Aceh’s strict interpretation of Islamic sharia law who were caned in front of a crowd.

The other four convicts were two couples declared who were guilty for committing adultery. The first couple, a 19-year-old man and 26-year-old woman, received three strokes each. The second couple, a former village chief in his 40s and a 30-year-old woman, received 100 strokes each. Report says Aceh is the only province in Indonesia that implements strict sharia law due to its special autonomy status, and public caning is a common punishment for offenders of its sharia bylaws.
