A Suspected Ritualist seriously Batters Wife In Ibadan Over Refusal To Comply (Photos)

There was pandemonium in Lasisi Apapa area of Total Garden, Ibadan, Oyo State, last night as a man simply called Baba David battered his wife after some heated arguments. Baba David, an obviously jobless man, who his wife claimed to be a doctor had come home that evening to announce that her sister would be getting married coming weekend, and that she should be ready to follow him to somewhere outside Ibadan. The wife was not comfortable with the news, saying how could the sister be getting married, and they would only hear five days to the occasion, and that she suspected foul play. It was at this point the wife reminded him of what he said early this year that his friends were using their first children for money ritual, and that since that time she had decided to be very careful with him. Moreso, mama David claimed she had been noticing some ritualistic exercise the house. It’s of note to state here that, mama David’s parents were not aware of her marriage to this man. In fact, her parents do not even know the man, neither do they know where she stays. In the course of the crossfire, Baba David openly said that nobody could ask her whereabout from him, and that he met her in a brothel in Ibadan, and she became pregnant for him and moved to his house. And they have one child, David. For daring to say she would not follow him to the wedding, the man descended on her and beat her blue black. He flung the boy from staircase, and they both (mother and child) sustained serious bodily injuries. It was the cry of the woman that attracted the neighbors, one of who is a policeman. As the policeman attempted to rescue the woman, Baba David delved him a blow, and he had no choice than to call the patrol team who came to whisk him away to detention. Even as he was being bundled away, Baba David was still boasting that when released he would make sure he killed his wife. One of the neighbors had to call the landlord, simply called Mr. shola, to ensure that the man is evicted from the environment.

Revealed!!! How To Win A Girl In 7 Minutes

Nollywood movies amuse me as much as they frighten me. I spent a greater part of my childhood watching them and over time, certain movie scenes shaped the way I behave. For instance, a memory from a popular 90’s movie makes it difficult for me to accept a free ride from a total stranger. Also, I am wary of accepting gifts from people I do not know, especially when it’s a consumable product.

In order not to be termed as ‘daddy’s girl’, I always have my excuses ready. “Do you drink beer?” – No. I have zero tolerance for alcohol.” “Do I offer you water?” – I drank almost a litre before I got here.” “Soda?” – I have cut down on my sugar intake.”

“There’s food in the…. – I am fasting.” One fateful afternoon, I visited a new friend. I was certain he was not going to believe me when I said I had my regular one litre of water because I was sweating heavily and almost dying of thirst due to the scorching Kaduna sun. My new friend offered me a drink but as usual I refused. He then placed the chilled can of Orijin Zero on the center table and excused himself hastily. This is a new one. I thought. One minute, he wasn’t back, Two minutes, I picked up the can and shook it, scanning for visible holes. Five minutes after, I thought I was being paranoid.

Seven minutes after, ‘let me even taste only one drop,’ I thought to myself. In less than a minute, I was draining the last contents in the can into my mouth. I guess certain drinks are worth making exceptions for. Orijin Zero is 100% natural, herbal, non-alcoholic soft drink that has less sugar than regular soft drink, a drink that will challenge you to ‘Rethink Your Soft Drink’.

Actor, Desmond Elliot advices FG To Use Entertainment Industry To Attract Youth To Agriculture

Nollywood star, Desmond Elliot, has advised the Federal Government to take advantage of the entertainment industry to attract youths to agriculture. ‎Elliot, who is a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Surulere Constituency, made the call in an interview with theNews Agency of Nigeria (NAN)in Abuja on Monday. He urged the government to invest in the industry as it has the capacity to influence young minds.

He said:- Firstly, it has to do with government accepting the fact that Nollywood is a big industry; once there is no belief in that, there is nothing Nollywood can do‎. But I do believe that the government believes in that; so what we can do next is see what the programmes are concerning agriculture and then we as Nollywood can ask if we can participate in it so that in our films we can inculcate that spirit of agriculture and agricultural produce, encourage the use of agricultural themes in our films. That would help rapidly.

We are good message changers, we help in changing thoughts and minds concerning a particular aspect and Nollywood will move full force into it. Once you begin to see it as a priority, then you invest heavily in it. It is used as a propaganda tool, it is used for the propagation of a better image for your country and the industry cannot die because it is an exotic industry. And when I say that I am not just talking about films, I am talking about film, music, comedy. And then it is a great, massive employer of labour; all these we need to put into one to understand this and we are getting there. I am hoping that sooner, we will have Nollywood out of a desk, out of an office to become a sector in the economy of Nigeria. He also said that it took a while for government to understand the importance of entertainment industry.
