We (Dangote Group) are attacking the economy with a policy of no more import, which will create jobs. We are suffering today because we have not diversify the economy of Nigeria.” Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing Gas pipeline, Vice President Osinbajo, said the project will supply three billion cubic feet of gas daily and had the potential of solving the problem of electricity shortage which had plagued the nation for decades. It also has fertilizer plant, which is projected to be the largest in the world. “The refinery will take off in the first quarter of 2019. I think the sub-sea gas pipeline, which is very important project, is meant to take off in 2018. “The gas pipeline project there. It is an incredible industrial undertaking. It is possibly the largest and the most ambitious on the continent today.
It is truly inspiring” Dignitaries that accompanied Osinbajo to the refinery site are the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Kayode Fayemi; Minister of Works, Power & Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN); Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment, Mr. Okechukwu Enelamah; Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun and former Ekiti State Governor, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo among others.

DHB-NEWS: Inspector Of Police Caught Stealing Plantain In Lagos…See Shocking Details
An Inspector of Police is being made to pay up for his criminal act after he was caught stealing plantain.
A police Inspector has gotten much more than he bargained for after engaging in the same act he was supposed to stop people from engaging in.
The police inspector identified only as Joseph and who was attached to the Railway Police Command, Ebute-Meta, has been detained.
He was detained for allegedly stealing bunches of plantain.
According to Punch Metro, the suspect was arrested on Tuesday while trying to hide the plantain in two trucks. It was learnt that a senior police officer in the command ordered his detention and his arraignment for the crime. A source at the command, however, said another senior officer pleaded with the officer that the suspect be released as the incident could embarrass the command.
He said, “The inspector is attached to the Railway Police Command. On Tuesday around 12pm, he went to the commissioner’s lodge and harvested plantains without any authority. As if that was not bad enough, he brought two trucks into the command to take the plantain away. He wanted to cover up the plantains with some iron sheets so that he could take them through the gate without being detected. “He was on this when some workers at the Railway Command called the attention of the authorities to it and he was arrested.”
Punch Metro reports that another source revealed that the superior officer of the suspect pleaded for his release. He said, “The matter is still on. The senior officer who pleaded that he should not be prosecuted explained that the action could dent the image of the command.”
The Commissioner of Police, Railway Police Command, Pius Imue, however, said he was not in Lagos, adding that he could not comment on the incident. He said, “I have been in Abuja since last weekend for the inauguration of the Abuja-Kaduna railway line, so I haven’t been on the ground to know about the incident. And if this happened in the command, officers who were on the ground would have attended to it.”

DHB-NEWS: Many feared dead As Military Bombards Lagos & Ogun Creeks
Scores of militants have been reportedly killed in a joint military operation code-named “Operation Awatse” launched in the Arepo area of Ogun State and some parts of Lagos.
The operation is to flush out the suspected militants that have been terrorising residents in the area.
There has been a lot of commotion. The Nigerian Air Force bombarded Fatola, in Arepo, which is the base of the militants, a resident confirmed. They are shelling the place with fighter jets. Some soldiers also surrounded the area to make sure that if any of the militants should run out, they would be gunned down. Another resident of Imushin area of Ogun state told Punch that the attack started sometime around 6pm on Thursday evening.
“An aircraft had actually been surveying the creek for the past three days. But a second one joined this evening around 6pm. All we heard was a sudden bomb blast released from the second aircraft. “But it appeared that some of the militants had fled into the bush. There are four major bases of the militants in the creek and they are led by two men- OC and Agbala. If the military can get these two people, then they would have succeeded in clipping the wings of the militants,” the resident said. The Director, Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Rabe Abubakar also confirmed the operation, adding that it is a routine operation for the purpose of denying the vandals and other criminal elements from causing terror in the area.
Abubakar added, “The operation was initiated by the defence headquarters to dominate the area with a view to flushing out all manners of criminals including militants and saboteurs. The operation involved the joint forces of the navy and army and it has been successful.”
According to the Lagos Police Command’s Spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos: “The Nigerian military and policemen from the Lagos and Ogun commands are part of the operation. We are sweeping through the waterways where we share boundaries to end the activities of the militants. It is a continuous exercise and we cannot tell the number of casualties.”
