(Must read) JAMB Set To Upload Names Of Successful Candidates
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it will soon commence the uploading names of candidates who have been offered admission into tertiary institution on their website. The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made the disclosure in an interview with newsmenon Friday in Lagos.
According to him, the board will ensure that Nigerian children are not unjustly denied admission in any institution of their choice. He said that the names of candidates that had satisfactorily met the admission rules and regulations of the institutions and that of the Federal Government would be uploaded soon. “We have just concluded a five-day Technical Committee meeting on Admission that started on Aug. 22 at the Bayero University Kano. “A lot was deliberated upon and at the end everything came out successful. “We have ensured that the admissions are done in line with the set rules and regulations as provided by the Federal Government and the various institutions.
“We are aware that the function of admission of candidates is solely the job of the Senates of institutions and what we do as a board is to see the guidelines used in admitting the candidates and ensure ratification. “We are passionate about ensuring that no candidate that meets any of the admission rules and guidelines as provided by both the institution and government is denied admission for whatever reason,’’ he said.
The Registrar of the board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, had at the opening of the meeting said that admissions would be carried out based on guidelines approved for each institution by their respective proprietors. He also said that preference expressed for the institutions and courses by the candidates would also be followed. Oloyede assured that the admission of candidates into the respective first choice institutions would be smooth.

Lol, Fans Blast Bukky Wright Over Son’s Nose Ring
During the week, veteran Nollywood actress, Bukky Wright, was heavily tongue-lashed over the lifestyle and fashion sense of her musician son, Ojayy Amu Wright. The actress whose son recently released the video of his hit single, Mofo, featuring Nollywood sensation, Moyo Lawal, was heavily criticied for allowing her son, Ojayy Wright; decorate his nose with a nose ring in the same fashion the Indians do, likewise slaves of the colonial era.
The criticism and tongue-lashing came following a photo post of herself and her son, Ojayy, on her Instagram page during the week. Shortly after posting the photo, fans stormed the comment section to blast her, blaming her for allowing her son disgrace her with such an uncultured display of fashion.

Just in!!! World’s Oldest Man Ever Discovered At Age 145 In Indonesia
Experts believe they have found a new world’s oldest man after documents emerged that appear to show Mbah Gotho to be 145 years old.
The record-breaking Indonesian would easily be the world’s oldest person ever – breezing past previous holder Jeanne Calment, who died at the age of 122.
Mr Gotho is said to have been born on 31 December 1870 – 31 years before the death of Queen Victoria.
If the documents, which are recognised by Indonesian authorities, are true, he would have already been 43-years-old when the First World War began on 28 July 1914. He has outlived four wives and all 10 of his children and now has grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
But Mr Gotho has said he is ready to die after reaching such an unbelievable age. He said: “What I want is to die. My grandchildren are all independent.” And one of his grandsons, Suryanto, says that his grandfather first starting making preparations for the fateful day when he was 122 years old. His documents have not yet been independently verified – meaning he is not officially the world’s oldest person.
