It was a decent weekend for Nigeria in the English Premier League as Super Eagles twosome of Mikel Obi and Odion Ighalo accomplished new statures with their individual clubs. Odion Ighalo struck in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea to become the first ever Watford player to score in five back to back English topflight recreations.
Mikel Obi entered the record books in the same game when he came off the bench in the 46th minute to make his 350th appearance in blue, the 21st player to do so. Likewise, the accomplishment makes him the club’s third-highest abroad appearance maker since his move from Lyn Oslo in 2006.
