UNILAG Students Built An Electric Car From Scratch
A gathering of Mechanical Engineering understudies from the University of Lagos built an electric-powered car from scratch, utilizing privately sourced materials.
The project, which started in 2014, was started by two designing graduates (then students),Olukoya Olusanyaand Maduka Smart, who later enrolled the assistance of other mechanical building understudies. The consequence of the joint effort was a zero discharge electric controlled model vehicle called named the DOVE P1.
The DOVE P1, which is made of a fiber glass body, tips the scales at around 200kg and is fit for paces of up to 35 km/h.
While one would scrutinize the practicality an electric auto in a country that battles with dependable power supply. “Autos are going electric”, said foreman Olukoya Olusanya in a meeting with CCTV News, “and I trust that in the following 15 years, more than half of all autos sold far and wide will be either in part electric or completely electric”.
