Woman Disappears With Fiancé’s N295.5m After Drugging Him

A 46-year-old woman, Victoria Alaegbu, has been accused of using charm on her fiancé, Prince Hillary Unachukwu and running away with his $1.5 million (N295.5 million).

Alaegbu was said to have administered a noxious chemical substance on Unachukwu last December in Ikoyi, Lagos. The substance knocked him out between 8pm and midnight and gave Alaegbu time to steal the money and lock Unachukwu inside the house. Unachukwu woke up when the charm wore off and shouted for help.

Alaegbu was later arrested by the police. She was arraigned yesterday at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on a five-count charge of conspiracy, attempt to kill, stealing, unlawful detention and possession of fake document.

Prosecuting Sergeant Nicholas Akpene said the defendant locked Unachukwu up inside his apartment with a padlock. The prosecutor also alleged that the defendant had a SIM card with number 07087773669, which was not registered in her name and address. The registration of the SIM card was done with intent to commit fraud, he added.

Alaegbu denied the charges. Magistrate S. K. Matepo granted her N5 million bail with two sureties in the like sum.

She ordered that the sureties must swear to an affidavit of means and show evidence of tax payment. One of the sureties should be a relation of the accused.

The case was adjourned till February 10 for mention. Last Tuesday, the police arraigned Unachukwu’s 22-year-old security guard, Isaac Onoja, for conniving with unknown persons to steal the $1.5 million.

Onoja, from Benue State, had claimed that some unknown armed men forcibly entered the premises and tied him up before stealing the $1.5m from the complainant’s room.

My Administration Bought The Equipments Buhari Is Currently Using To Fight Boko Haram – GEJ

In a recent interview with International news channel, France24, Former President Goodluck Jonathan, says the current administration is still using the equipment his administration bought while he was in government.

“The new government is working hard and I believe they are still using the equipment we procured. The budget is still being debated, no new equipment has been bought, so even those equipment the president is using to prosecute the war against Boko Haram are those equipment we procured and I believe that with what we left behind and the new ones they will acquire, this issue of Boko Haram will be taken to a logical conclusion.

When Boko Haram started in Nigeria, we had no terror experience. Yes we had armed robbery and other common crimes, but terrorism was different because the people involved were not afraid to die.

So, you need a different mechanism to confront terrorism, you need superior technology, so that you will be able to stop them even before the attack. We never had the equipment, but when we were confronted, we started acquiring and before I left office we built reasonable capacity and I believe with what we left behind and also with what the new government will acquire, they will be able to prosecute this terror war to a reasonable conclusion” he said When asked to speak on the ongoing $2.1 billion arms deal scandal, Jonathan said “This issue always comes up but I always insist that the matters are being investigated and they are in our own courts and in Nigeria where our issues are before the courts, you don’t make comments on it.

It is considered prejudice. But one thing you will also realize is that for us to have conducted elections across the country, all parts of the country, that means that we prosecuted the war against Boko Haram to a reasonable level. Otherwise, we couldn’t have been in position to conduct elections across the country and we couldn’t have fought Boko Haram with bare hands.

This issues of corruption, issues of misuse of funds, being investigated before the courts and I wouldn’t want to compromise the position of our laws because while I served as the President of Nigeria, I made sure that the judiciary had their own independence.Br>
I made sure that there is maximum separation of powers between all arms of government. So haven left office, I don’t think I will be the person that will say things that will be detrimental to the judicial processes” he said Watch the full interview video Below; click here to watch exclusive interview with goodluck jonathan

5 Types Of Lagos Women You Should Never Mess With

Lagos women are some of the most desirable female folk everyone wants to associate and be with.

They radiate a sort of goodness that makes you want their company. They are some of the best women you want to be with only when you are good though.

Lagos women have transcended the weaker vessel tag that some people think they carry and feel they can do anything they like with them. There are some women in the city you would not want to treat as second class citizens.

This calibre of women can spit fire if you don’t know where you belong so be careful when you engage them.

Market Woman

A Lagos market woman is an embodiment of good and otherwise. These women have a rare charm of attracting people to them in a bid to sell their goods. Every buyer whether new or old is considered a lifelong customer and they joke and laugh in a bid to win the heart of their buyers.

Behind this façade is a viper in waiting if you overstep your boundary. These women can out talk and tongue lash the hell out of you if you don’t know your place. If they find out you are not interested in buying their goods but only interested in wasting their time, you will be hassled out of the market. Trust other market women to add to the injury!

Landlady

Lagos landladies usually project a calm attitude but you cannot afford to take the demeanour for granted. If a Lagos landlady tells you she does not tolerate untidiness, you can’t afford to do otherwise. If you do anything contrary to what your land lady wants in Lagos, you are going to regret every second you spend in that house.

Police Woman

The police seem to be the least feared Force in Lagos but never mess with a police woman. The fact that she is a police and a woman is the reason you should be careful with what you say or do around her. If not you would be forced to bit the dust and spend quality time behind bars if you are not careful. Never joke with a Lagos policewoman as they are ready to put you in your place if need be.

Woman Behind Wheels

There seems to be a spirit that controls Lagos women when they are driving. Forget that you know her as a cool calm lady. As soon as she gets into her car, you won’t want to try any nonsense. If you brush her vehicle and do not apologise quickly, you might be inviting trouble. If you know what is good for yourself, don’t overtake her without being sure you won’t be forced to pay for damages.

Boss

Anybody in the position of authority deserves respect especially in Lagos, if the person is a woman; the person deserves extra respect coupled with a tinge of fear. Female bosses do not have time for a second chance. You make an error, you are gone.

There is no time for any silly excuse as they expect near perfection from you. If she does not like your face or style, you are going to climb a mountain trying to please her. Be careful therefore when you are dealing with a female boss.
