9 Things A Nigerian Parent Would Totally Beat The Devil Out Of Their Kids For.....

A Nigerian parent can be very loving and caring but could also be very strict and could beat the living day light out of you for a little mistake. You would agree its nothing really serious but to them, it is tantamount and you might be seriously dealt with. Some of you remember being actually beaten for as little as not eating your food fast or not sitting properly while eating. DHB bring back old memories of the very funny (now) Nigerian parents could beat their kids for.

1. Wasting Food

This is a cardinal offense in a Nigerian home. It is a must to finish your food and it is even worst when you insisted the one you were given wouldn’t be enough for you, so your mom had to add some more and after all that drama, you are unable to finish the food.

2. Sucking Thumb

Some kids enjoy doing this, but they better know the exact time to have the thumb in their mouth. The last thing you want is for a Nigerian parent especially moms to catch you thumb sucking, they actually have the tendency to beat you into the next year.

3. Careless

Take the scenario, a Nigerian parent sends his/her kid to buy something from a shop nearby, then the child forgets to take his change, or loses the money or buys something else or doesn’t even remember what he was sent to buy. We are very sure, anyone born and bred by Nigerian parents know exactly what would come after that right?

4. Bed Wetting

A Nigerian parent could totally beat and humiliate a child before anyone for bed wetting. They even have songs that are chanted to shame a bedwetting child.

5. Stealing From School

It is called stealing as long as your parents didn’t put them in your bag when your were going to school in the morning. So, when they see other people’s items in your bag, they could beat you until you forget your name.

6. Eating A Neighbour’s Food

This forever ranks highest when it comes to punishment. Eating in your neighbour’s house whether your parents were present or not is an offense.

7. Breaking Plates

It doesn’t matter if it was a mistake or not, Nigerian moms don’t wait to investigate the offense before pouncing on you like you’re a hated orphan.

8. Not Showing Respect

A Nigerian parent wants to raise a respectful child and you would be totally contradicting their dreams of making that happen when you turn out to be a child that sees an elder and doesn’t greet. When your mom reminds you before you have to greet an elderly person, then you know you are surely going to get whooped when you get inside, that is if you don’t get it immediately.

First Nigerian Toyota Vehicle Assembled In Lagos (see Photos)

Toyota Nigeria has achieved a breakthrough in Nigeria by unveiling of its first locally-assembled vehicle in Lagos, a Hiace bus. Toyota Nigeria last year hinted of its plan to establish a vehicle assembly plant in the country to join Nissan, Ford, Kia, Peugeot and a host of other auto firms already assembling vehicles locally. The Managing Director, Toyota Nigeria, Mr. Kunle Ade-Ojo, said the new Hiace was assembled in the company’s plant in Lagos, built with 30,000-unit production capacity every year.

The Hiace, he said, was assembled as a test case, adding that the organization would soon begin its mass production. This is coming about two and a half years after the announcement of the Automotive Industry Development Plan by the Federal Government, which raised the import duty on cars from 22 per cent to 70 per cent in order to discourage vehicle importation.

Paul told People lies That I Couldn’t Sing Or Write Songs – Peter Okoye

Paul lied to people that I couldn’t sing – Peter Okoye has revealed many of the things that transpired in his family that ultimately led to P-Square’s break up. Speaking to Nigerian Entertainment Today, Okoye revealed how bothPaulandJudehad stifled him over the course of the relationship.

He said: “Now listen to this, P-Square featured on songs with J-Martins, Bracket, LKT, 9ice and these 4 songs were done by Paul alone, but guess what, did I appear in the videos, YES. Now hear this, we have other collabos with Kaha, Darey, Ruggedman. I did these songs alone. How come they don’t have videos? Paul refused to appear in the videos.”

“So I told Paul that when next he does a collabo alone, he should be in the video alone, because it got to a point where artistes began to feel if they did a collabo with Paul it [would] get a video, but if it was me, it [wouldn’t] get a video. The last collabo we did was with Flavour and I refused to do another one. Even Flavour had to speak all the Igbo he knows to convince me before I agreed to do it. Only for my brother to come and tell me that ‘Shey I thought you said you won’t appear in any video that I did the collabo alone? Why did you appear on this one?’. I was sad but I knew another one will come.”

“So Tiwa Savage called me; apparently Paul had done a song with her – not the campaign song they are promoting now, another P-Square collabo entirely. So she [said] she’s been trying to reach Paul to get the CD of the song from him [because] he’s already done his part, so I went to Paul’s house to help ask for it and tell him I want to go to the studio to do my verse and he said he doesn’t know where the CD is.”

“I went to the Mavin studio to meet Tiwa. When I got there, she asked for the CD and I told her Paul didn’t give me any CD, so I called him again and gave the phone to Tiwa and [he] told her on phone that the CD is at Omole, so I got into the studio, recorded my verse and when I finished, everybody was clapping. I was surprised to realize that Paul had [told] them that I don’t sing or write songs.”

“I felt really bad and betrayed, but I covered up for him. I jokingly asked Teebillz if they gave him Red Label and he said yes, so I was like you guys caused it, and we laughed over it. So when my assistant went to pick up the CD, Paul and Jude started shouting at him to ‘ask Peter what is he doing at the Mavin studio? He knows how we work.’ The next day, I went to Paul and told him how I felt when I heard what he said. Only for Jude to say that he made Paul the lead singer of Psquare 8 years ago!”
